SSB 9/23skunk

On my way home from work and got a call from Sal saying many kiters on the way to SSB. Did a U-turn and headed out. It looked not promising all the way there. My phone had died at work so no access to any forcast. I was sure these guys had seen something good. Nope flat water and it only built to a slight breeze. It was good to have a couple beers with some friends and watch Ryan try and kite with his Costco SUP. All in all it was a waste of gas.

9/20 SSB

Great wind last night. Flew the 13m. Perfectly powered. Amazing sunset through the smoke of the Herriman fire. At least something good came from it. Filled my memory chip on the camera before it got real cool looking. Anyway nice to see a bit more beach but the place is a mess with more couch burning. Flat water area is closed. Also flew the 13.5 Kahoona. Very nice kite with a very different feel than the Instinct.

9/18/2010 Deer Creek 13m

Nice day to spend at the beach. Kind of boring kiting with light wind and not much action.
Highlight was passing a boat that handed me some licorice as I passed by. Sat home on Sunday and missed what looked to be an epic day at Deer Creek Also saw them riding at Willard on the web cam, Dam whats wrong with me? Monday is looking good for Utah lake as long as the rain stays away.

Deer Creek 9/17/2010 11m instinct

After a night out with my wife at a Mofro concert in the Stateroom in SLC. Awesome concert! I woke up to a headache from hell. After puking I was worried that I would miss kiting today. I was able to pull it together enough to make it to the lake, It was the usual gusty wind that DC gets. I rode for just under 2 hours and was home in time for dinner. The day ended much better than it started and I am feeling good again!
